Sometimes one little action does worth more than a million soothing words. One simple gesture conveys meaning deeper than saying support. It is a fact often overlooked, that in the end it all just comes down to what you do, not what you say.
And I was reminded of that yesterday, during biology competition held in a university in Bandung. It was a national competition, where my team breezed to the grandfinal round.
I can still hear the noise in the auditorium. Sadly none of them belonged to our supporter. Can you imagine being there, being me, the audience shouting their supports to the other three teams while the only familiar face we could see was only our teacher’s?
What a downer, right?
But it all changed right in the middle of the game, where suddenly in walks a very familiar figure, straight to the audience seat.
Yeah, there she was, wearing a huge smile on her face after seeing the scoreboard, her smile turning goofier after seeing us up here playing the final round.
After that moment, I became even more convinced that Ratu Nida is gonna change some lives in the future. She’s gonna make a very big impact on people someday.
Because that friend of mine, man, she has changed mine.
I would even so far as to say that she’s contributed a great lot on our team winning the game.
So I know you understand that saying a simple “Thanks” ain’t enough.
See, one simple action sometimes is more, more than enough.
