Silent Prayers for Kimyalar.

I’m comfortable in my bed right now. Tucked under my warm thick blanket. I just had my breakfast, which unfortunately, decided not to stay long within my digestive system.

I know it’s gross-I’ve been throwing up a lot since last night. But let’s not get into details shall we.

I’m waiting for my brother to come pick me up and take me to the doctor. But I’m already feeling better, so I don’t see the point in wasting time and energy and money just to get poked and prodded for nothing. We’ll see to that though.

On a lighter note, my friends are having a Chemistry quiz contest today. I can tell they’re totally and utterly nervous like nobody’s bussiness. There’s nothing I can do than pray for them.

Among my classmates, as I have told in my previous blogs, we call them Kimyalar (it’s somehow Turkish for ‘the Chemistries’). To them, chemistry is like endorphine: it makes them tick. It runs in their blood, in their veins. It practically defines them. So I can understand how important one single chemistry competition is to them.

I’ve always admired people like Kimyalar: those who have something they can hold on to (other than God, of course). Those who have something to run to. My father, for example, whenever he feels down or frustrated he would simply sketch or paint with watercolor. Others would probably play sport. Or create music. Or cook. Whatever it is that would restore their mood back to normal.

Anyways, back to the chemistry quiz contest. To be bluntly and boldly honest, I want them to win. It’s only fair. I want them to win because they deserve it. They’ve worked hard for it and they’re simply the best.

I can’t say for sure whether this will either make them or break them, as they’re the only ones who know, but these three people whom I have come to grow fond of and care of very much (even though they probably don’t know that), they deserve a sweet taste of victory. In this particular battle.

So please pray for them just like I constantly do.

Have a nice day!
